A chat with Jen from @Bosmans_gundoglife Paws@brooklyn Ambassador!
Hello Jen! How are you? Please tell us a little bit about you and your dog/s?
Hello! So Bosman is my almost 2 year old Black Labrador Retriever and we live in East Sussex with my husband. I’m lucky enough to work from home other than the odd day out at meetings or events so spend most of my days with Bosman for company.
How long have you been a Paws@brooklyn ambassador?
I applied to be a seasonal rep which started in March 2024 and I was over the moon when Sarah asked if we wanted to stay on as permanent reps.
How long have you been gundog training?
We started when Bosman was 6 months old in January 2024 by joining a beginner gundog course run by Cwnsaethu Gundogs. It wasn’t something I had planned to do when we first got him but through starting our Instagram account and following gundog accounts I quickly became obsessed and have loved learning and having fun with Bosman and can’t see myself not doing it now.
We love seeing photos of Bosman! Please tell us a little bit about him and what he means to you!
Oh gosh, this is a hard one to put into words as he means everything to me. I was having a tough time with my mental health before we got him and having him gave me a focus and has given me a whole new life. Bosman has helped me to get my confidence back and I’ve also made new friends because of him. He’s just the funniest dog, always making us laugh, and is well and truly part of the family. People are always surprised how big he is when they meet him in real life. 2 of his favourite things are swimming and having a cuddle (he’s a 32kg lapdog) being a Labrador he also loves food - the fishier the better!
What is your favourite Paws@brooklyn products?
I just love it all! But if I really had to choose one then the heeling lead and collar which is so handy to quickly clip and unclip, but also the dummies, you can never have too many!
Any plans for this summer with Bosman?
Bosman will be enjoying a holiday in Devon with us towards the end of June and we will be continuing to join different training days as well as regular 121’s in the hope of really improving our training as I’d love to be able to work him on a shoot one day
Anything extra you would like to add?
I love being part of the Paws team, Sarah and all the other reps are so supportive and encouraging and it feels like the best little community to be part of.
